We Are All the Same (FMF and Song of the Week!)featured

It’s Five Minute Friday time! Join us over at Kate’s place for all the FMF fun. Today’s prompt is the word SAME. Here we go!

We are all the same. In one way or another, we are alike. We were all created by God in His image. Whether our skin is black, white, brown, or tan, we are beautiful. Whether our eyes are green, blue, hazel, or brown, we are lovely. Whether we live in a nice neighborhood with a comfortable house or whether we live in a hut in the middle of a barren land, we are loved by God. When I start thinking about all of this, I wonder how I am so privileged to be the one born into comfort. What did I do to deserve such blessings? What did she do to be born into poverty? These questions are hard ones to answer, and yet my heart rests in the truth that our God is a God of love.  I am reminded of this story in John 9.

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth.“Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?” “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him. We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. – John 9:1-4

Just like Jesus said about the man born blind, it wasn’t the man’s fault or His parents fault that he was born that way. He was born that way so God’s power could be seen on the earth. We Are All the Same

Those of us who are fortunate to live in comfort have the opportunity to partner with God in sharing what we have with others.  Some of us can give financially, while some of us can go physically to help heal the hurting, feed the hungry, and love the lonely.  For we are truly all the same, made in God’s image, and we can make a difference in the lives of others.  We can show God’s power in the earth.

new song of the week

The song I want to share today is from my new favorite album: Simple Gospel, by United Pursuit band. The whole album is so good! It grows on you, too.  The more you listen to it, the more you love it. Enjoy God’s presence today!
