Quick & Easy Peanut Butter Raisin Balls (One of my favorite yummy AND healthy snacks lately!)featured
One day a couple of weeks ago I was making oatmeal for breakfast. Out of sheer curiosity and boredom, I started mixing together my uncooked oats with honey to see what would happen. 🙂 At first I thought I might try to make homemade granola bars or something, but after messing with it for a few minutes, I decided to add a couple more ingredients and make some peanut butter balls. I did a quick Google search to see how different people made them, and I came up with this easy combination that I just can’t quit craving! (I am pregnant, so that’s not too surprising.)
There is no reason to measure anything — that’s one thing that makes this SO incredibly easy. They are yummy, healthy, and give you a good energy boost, too! Win Win!
Here’s what you need:
- Peanut butter
Just mix all the ingredients together in a medium-sized bowl. You can play around with the amounts and do it how you like it.
I like to eat some of it right out of the bowl!
I roll the rest into little balls. You can scoop up a little of the mixture with a spoon (or just grab it right with your fingers). Next, use either your fingers to roll them up or roll them around in the palms of your hands before putting them on a plate. (If you’re wondering why you don’t see many raisins, I usually put more! I was running out of them today, so I just made do with what I had on hand.)
I keep them in the fridge because I like them a little chilled, but you don’t have to refrigerate them unless you want to. They don’t last longer than a day or two anyway (because we eat them up).
If you want to make these a little more creative, you could add dried cranberries (instead of the raisins), chocolate chips, cocoa, or anything else you want to try! Do a little Google search to get more ideas if you want to.

Side note: One of my cooking secrets is the Google search. If I have a certain ingredients available and wonder if I could make something specific, say my own sloppy Joe sauce or something, I just do a quick Google search. I click on and read a few different recipes, finding the ingredients that are common to all or most of them. In the case of the sloppy Joe sauce (a real-life example from a few weeks ago when I already had buns and cooked ground beef), after reading several recipes for the sauce I realized they pretty much all included three main ingredients: ketchup, mustard, and Worchestershire sauce. Since I had all those ingredients on hand, I mixed ’em up in a pot with the meat, added salt and pepper, and supper was ready! It was really good, too. 🙂
