Ready, go.

“One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.” – Psalm 27:4

I love this verse. David’s heart was set on worship. So much that he wrote this song about beholding the Lord’s beauty. It was his deepest heart’s desire! If you know anything about David’s life, you know it wasn’t perfect. He made his share of mistakes, and big ones at that!  But he knew where to come back to when he messed up: back to the Lord and His presence.

God knew that without divine intervention, we were destined  to live a life apart from His presence and His love.  Our own sin would forever keep us separated from Him. So He sent His only Son, Jesus.  When Jesus went to the cross, He overcame sin once and for all! He tore down the wall that was separating us from His love and presence, and now we can always dwell in His presence.

And graceful mama, His presence doesn’t stay in the walls of a church. He has chosen to dwell in you.  You are His house!  Every day, no matter what you are doing, God is with you and you can enjoy Him!

So today, enjoy His sweet presence. Bask in His love and limitless grace. Behold His beauty, and know that you are oh-so-beautiful to Him.

new song of the week

I am loving this new song by Amanda Cook, called “Pieces.” It’s from her new album: Brave New World.  Here are just a taste of the lyrics.

Unreserved, unrestrained

Your love is wild, Your love is wild for me

It isn’t shy, it’s unashamed

Your love is proud to be seen with me

You don’t give Your heart in pieces

You don’t hide Yourself to tease us…

This song is getting all over me! Let God’s love just wash over you while you listen to this song. If you love it as much as I do, you can download it from iTunes here (affiliate link).
