Meet Tasha

Hi! Welcome to My Graceful Life.  I’m Tasha.
I’m so glad you are here!

I’ll take a few minutes to tell you about me. (And by the way, I’d love to get to know you, too!  Write me a message at the bottom of this page.  I can’t wait to meet you!)

I was born in 1980 in the South.  I’m a Southern
girl through and through.
I like to be barefoot outdoors, swim in the river, and bait my own fishing hook.

This Southern girl also dreams about adventures around the world! Alas, all my travels happened B.K. (before kids).  I’m not traveling much these days, except to go to Aldi and the homeschool co-op.  This season of my life is about raising my kiddos!  When they are bigger, I just know we’ll all get to travel together.  And that will be oh-so-awesome.

I am totally in love with my handsome husband.   God brought Byron and me together through a pro-life prayer movement called Bound4Life.  In the summer of 2007, we got married on the pier at the river at sunset, and God put a rainbow in the sky during our wedding!  My Lord knows what I like.

MT-76

I have three lovely children.  Lily is my oldest, and she is a fireball.  Little Isabella Rose will make you laugh in a split second.  Isaac is a busy little boy who likes to give himself tattoos (and play in the toilet when no one is looking).  I am so happy I am able to be home with them, loving on them and teaching them every day.  The stay-at-home mom life may not be for everyone, but it is definitely for me.

MT-69

I am so blessed to have had supportive and wonderful parents who taught me what it is to love the Lord.  I also grew up with a beautiful little sis who is my best friend in the whole wide world.  She is spunky, super creative, strong of heart, talented (muscian and song-writer), and a really great mom. Can you tell I am really proud of her?

Sister Love

I am absolutely overcome by the love of JESUS.  I believe He is still speaking to those who will hear and that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today.  I enjoy communing with the Lord everyday.  I live each day by trusting in the power of His grace.  I believe that I was created to enjoy intimacy with the Most High, to know Him, and be known by Him.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education and a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Jacksonville State University, and I taught college math for 9 years.  (Whoa!  This girl’s a math nerd!…I know, right?)  I love math so much I even wrote a hit song about it.  Well, at least it was a hit with my Algebra and Statistics students at JSU.  I think factoring polynomials is fun, and I also enjoy tutoring math students.

MT-11I have held a variety of jobs in my life, but by far the most rewarding job I’ve ever done is the one I have now: being a mom to Lily, Isabella, and Isaac and a wife to my wonderful husband Byron.  They are my treasures, and I’m so thankful that God saw fit for us to “do life” together.

When you read My Graceful Life, you get ME.  I literally feel like God is pouring me out.  I hope that as I am obedient to allow Him to pour me out, I can be an encouragement to you as a mother.  As a woman.  As a child of God.

Again, I’m so glad you stopped by My Graceful Life.  I’d love to hear from you, and I hope you come back many more times in the future!  I hope we can encourage and bless each other in our mom journeys.
