Psalm 69:30 “I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.”
Momma, in the midst of the dirty diapers and the sibling squabbles, the little people calling your name, and the smooshed peanut butter and jelly sandwich on your kitchen floor…. Do you ever wonder where He went? God, that is. Oh I know that He’s everywhere. But sometimes we feel Him. And sometimes we might just feel the smooshed peanut butter and jelly between our toes.
The next time you find yourself in such a moment, wondering where He is, maybe He just needs to be magnified. You know He’s there, right? You are just having trouble seeing Him.
Think about what a magnifying glass does. Let’s say you were to look at a bumblebee through a magnifying glass. It doesn’t actually make the little bumblebee larger, but it makes it appear larger. So you can see more of its details. Things you might miss otherwise.
Psalm 69 says that we magnifying Him with thanksgiving. As we give Him thanks for all the good things that He has given us and done for us, and even what He’s going to do, we begin to see Him more clearly!
It’s not that He wasn’t there before. He will never, ever leave you. You just didn’t realize He was there until you began to magnify Him.
So magnify Him with thanksgiving today. Thank Him until you see Him… Until you feel Him! Enjoy His company today, Mom. Enjoy His presence in the midst of the chaos. Your children will thank you for it!
What are you thankful for? Let’s magnify Him today. Please share with us in a comment. Let’s start a thankfulness revolution!
