Let’s Be Real

Let’s Be Realfeatured

It’s time for five minute Friday again!  If you have five minutes and enjoy writing, head on over to katemotaung.com to join up!
Lots of lovely ladies just like you meet up every week to write on a single word prompt, and today’s word is REAL.  Here we go in 5… 4… 3… 2… 1.

I think it’s so important for us to be real when we’re writing our blogs. Do you know why? Because NOBODY, and I mean nobody, is perfect. When we open up about our imperfections and our real lives, we give our readers permission to be themselves without having to strive for perfection, a standard that cannot be attained.Lets Be Real

The Bible tells us that the “law” was given to show people how sinful they were, so they would turn to Christ for the salvation that they could not attain on their own. Nobody can do it! Nobody can live up to that standard. But then… GRACE.

When we rest in His grace, fully trusting in Him, we can rest assured that He will accomplish His purpose in us. We don’t have to strive for perfection.

Our job is to accept that He was perfect FOR us. That He was a perfect sacrifice. That He lived perfectly, and now by trusting in Him we can embrace His perfect life and walk in it as our own. We get all the benefits of perfection without having ever attained it ourselves.

Let’s be real. Let’s let others see that we, too, need grace. That we can’t walk this road alone, and they don’t have to either.

That was fun!  I hope you enjoy your Friday, and may the GRACE be with you!
