Grace for the Task at Hand (FMF: Learn and a Song!)featured

It’s time for Five Minute Friday again. I’m so glad to be a part of Five Minute Friday! It’s so much fun to get to know other like-minded ladies (and gents) through their wonderful and encouraging blogs. Speaking of getting to know one another, I so wish I could have made it to the FMF Retreat last weekend in Nashville! I wanted to work it out so badly, but alas… It didn’t work out. I was actually IN Nashville Friday night for a wedding (you were lovely, Shanelle!), but there was no way for me get over there to the retreat venue. So close, yet so far away. {grin} Maybe next year! (There is going to be a next year, right?)

Well, on to the reason I’m here. The FMF prompt this week is the word LEARN. Here I go in 3…2…1…

FMF Learn

Oh how appropriate! All I can think about right now is our homeschooling plans for this school year. More than ever, I want to be prepared so our year can be as productive and fun as possible. I have read Pam Barnhill’s book on homeschool planning (which I found to be oh-so-helpful and practical), and now I’m re-reading it and implementing all the steps one-by-one. We’re starting school on Monday, so I should be done by now, right? Well, I’m not. But I will be soon, and I’m so hopeful about the upcoming year.

Will we do everything I am so carefully planning? I’m sure we won’t get to all of it. But to have a plan (even if I fall short a bit) is to set myself up for success.

I guess Isaac is in the mood for some coffee this morning. :) #coffee #coffeecutie #isaac #familylife

Schooling with a toddler (about to be 2 years old) underfoot is challenging to say the least, but it is worth all of the hardship, because I know it is what God has called me to right now. There is always grace for the task at hand!

Whatever God has called you to do in this season of your life, there is grace available to you to accomplish it!

If there is no grace for it, it may be time to

1. Reconsider whether or not you are supposed to be doing it.     OR

2. Ask for more grace! (He has a never-ending supply ready for us!)

Sometimes we make plans and try our hardest to do something grand in our own strength, only to discover that God had something else in mind. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. We were never meant to live this life in our own strength, and God has great grace to propel us along (and do the hardest work for us).

new song of the week

I have a song to share with you today! It’s been on my mind all week. I do hope you enjoy it! God is faithful to the end… and He will finish what He started in you.
