Do you ever feel like you’ve exhausted all of God’s resources?  That maybe, just maybe, you have called on Him one time too many?  That maybe there’s just not any grace left for you?  Well, hold tight to your hang-glider, because we are about to jump off the do-it-all-yourself cliff into the wide open spaces of grace.   Mama, you are loved by Him!

The verses in John below have much to say about God’s grace.  And we’re going to dive into three things in particular.  Here we go!

John 1:14, 16-17 [NKJV] And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. … And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Your Father is absolutely FULL of grace and truth.  When I think that I have exhausted all of His resources, there is still more.  He never runs out of patience for me, and He never runs out of grace.  I am so glad!  Wow!  If He ran out of grace like I run out of peanut butter or apple juice, that would constitute an emergency for sure!

But God, my infinite God, never runs out of grace because He is full of it.  There is enough for me and all my sisters!  And that grace not only saves us from all of our sins, it saves us into our destinies!  This never ending supply of grace is like a fuel that never runs out.  It propels us day by day as we walk with Him, living this life full of grace.sun-rays-through-clouds_1024x768_25612

When Jesus became human and came to earth, he brought grace and truth with him from Daddy.  I can’t even imagine what it must have been like for Jesus to come from heaven where the glory of God is tangibly felt at all times, stepping into our world.  We needed a heavy dose of grace and truth, and Jesus brought it all!  He opened up a channel of grace that never stops flowing!

He became human like us and came to live here among us.  He knew that we couldn’t realize our union with the Father without divine intervention, so He brought plenty of grace with Him to propel us into the ways of God.  He packed more than enough truth to renew our minds and silence every lie of the enemy.

We have received this grace and truth out of His abundance.    I am so thankful for it!  He has plenty to give me, and I’m taking it all.  I receive more of it every day, and I’m so glad He doesn’t tire of giving it to me.  He is so amazing–how He is patient with me and even delights in bestowing favor upon me!

An overflowing cup has to pour out somewhere, and Christ’s cross positioned us right under the waterfall of God’s overflowing grace.  It has nothing to do with the good that you or I have done to deserve it.  It only has to do with what Jesus did!  He was a perfect sacrifice, and He qualified me and you to be recipients of the graceful life.  A life not marked by perfection according to human standards, but a life full of His glorious grace.

Ah! The rest I feel when I just let go and let Him do it!  His grace does all the work, renewing my mind in the process so my humanness doesn’t make me resist so much.  He has a sense of humor with me too, and when I forget, He gently reminds me that it’s up to Him to complete the work He began in me.

He is faithful!  He will complete the work He began in you.  A work that was actually finished on the cross, that He is bringing to completion in your real world more and more each day.  Before you know it, if He has his way (which he will), we’ll all be full of grace and truth just like our Daddy!
